How do I move the tiles?

Tap a 2 along the edge. That tile and the other tiles in its line slide until they can move no farther. Equal tiles merge.

Why can’t I use every row or column?

The row and column containing the largest tile are blocked. This is the central strategic rule of Edge Merge.

Can I continue after reaching 2048?

Yes. Reaching 2048 completes the main goal, but you can continue playing until no valid moves remain.

What is the 2048 replay?

The built-in replay plays a complete, predetermined sequence of moves that reaches 2048.

Achievements and Game Center

Which achievements are available?

Reach tiles of 256, 512, 1024, and 2048, or create a complete row or column of 16, 32, or 64.

My achievement does not appear in Game Center

Make sure you are signed in to Game Center, then open Edge Merge while connected to the internet. Completed achievements are submitted again automatically.

Purchases and Photos

What does the coffee purchase unlock?

Nothing is locked. Coffee is an optional, one-time way to support the developer.

How do I restore my coffee purchase?

Open the information panel using the arrow at the bottom and choose Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.

How do I save my board to Photos?

Use the save option after a game and allow Edge Merge to add the image to Photos.

Which devices are supported?

Edge Merge is available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
